Thermoregulation is the process by which animals maintain their body temperature within a certain range, regardless of external temperature fluctuations. Animals can be classified into three main categories based on their temperature regulation:
ECTOTHERMS:
These animals rely on external heat sources to regulate their body temperature. Their internal temperature fluctuates with the surrounding environment. Examples include reptiles, amphibians, and most invertebrates.
ENDOTHERMS: 
These animals generate their own body heat internally and have the ability to maintain a relatively constant body temperature, regardless of external conditions. Birds and mammals, including humans, are endothermic. 
HOMEOTHERMS: 
These animals maintain a stable and constant body temperature, typically within a narrow range, regardless of external conditions. Most endothermic animals are also homoeothermic.
In humans, the main thermoregulatory strategies include: 
SWEATING: 
When body temperature rises, sweat glands release moisture onto the skin's surface. As sweat evaporates, it cools the body down. 
VASODILATION: 
Blood vessels near the skin's surface expand, allowing increased blood flow and heat dissipation through radiation and convection. 
SHIVERING: 
When body temperature drops, rapid muscle contractions generate heat to increase body temperature. 
BEHAVIORAL ADAPTATIONS: 
Humans can adjust their behavior to regulate body temperature, such as seeking shade or wearing appropriate clothing in response to temperature changes. 
These strategies help maintain the body's core temperature within a narrow range, typically around 37 degrees Celsius (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit), which is crucial for normal physiological functioning.
Animals are classified into two groups on the basis of thermoregulation.
Cold Blooded Animals---That does not maintain their body temperature.
Warm Blooded Animals---That maintain their body temperature constant in a limits.
