There are very close relationship between excretory product and habitat.The habitat where water is abundant animals excrete ammonia such as fresh water animals, the animals which live in  desert remove uric acid and so on.....

Let's explore some examples:

Terrestrial Habitats:

In terrestrial habitats such as deserts or forests, water conservation is crucial due to limited water availability. Organisms in these habitats have evolved efficient excretory systems to conserve water while eliminating nitrogenous waste. For example, mammals, including humans, excrete urea as the primary nitrogenous waste, which requires less water for its elimination compared to ammonia. Uric acid is another nitrogenous waste product found in reptiles, birds, and insects, which is even more water-conserving, allowing these organisms to survive in arid environments.

Aquatic Habitats:

Aquatic habitats include freshwater and marine environments. Water is abundant in these habitats, allowing organisms to excrete waste products more freely. Aquatic organisms such as fresh water fish excrete ammonia as their primary nitrogenous waste since it can be easily diluted in water and eliminated through the gills or kidneys. Ammonia is highly toxic and requires a large amount of water for dilution, making it suitable for organisms living in water-rich environments. Marine animal excrete urea to remove excess salt through rectal gland.

Arboreal Habitats:

Arboreal habitats, such as forests or trees, pose unique challenges for organisms. Animals such as tree-dwelling sloths have adapted to conserve energy by having a slow metabolic rate and excreting waste products infrequently. These animals have specialized kidneys and large bladders that allow them to store urine until they descend to the ground for elimination.
